MUA booked for Malaysia Dinner...

We rushed back to KL over the weeked for MUA trial. Agnes's sis helped book a MUA (Jessica) recommended by her friend. We also booked a trail Cathy, but we didn't make it cause Agnes's mother is just too satified with Jessica, and booked her for our Malaysia Dinner.

The MUA gave us a really special price, the package come with;

The make-up we still feel it's a bit too much, but Agnes's mother seems really happy with them. Maybe will ask Jessica to tone down the make-up a bit on AD. She's really fast, but what really impressed us are the bodyarts.

We didn't get to try the hairstyle as Jessica said she's very confident with hairstyling being a hairstylist for over 10+yr. We did had our hair cut and style by her after the trial session.

Back to our roots...

Taking advantage of airaisa latest offer of 500k free seats for travel from 12 Oct 09 to 31 Jan 10, we booked our tickets to Haikou (Hainan) at RM308 for 2.

We're both Hainanese, but never been to Hainan before. So it'll be a good chance to go on a short trip to have a brief look at our roots. Since Agnes doesn't have much leaves left after the Shenzhen and Hongkong trip. We just have to take this as our honeymoon, or just postpone it till to 2010.

Gift from a friend^^

Recently we took our just1book photobook to show our doggies group. One of them suggested that he can help us make a metal plate with engraving on it. We were trilled by the idea, we ask for a gold plate and it turn out GREAT on our maroon hardcover. The actual thing looks way better than on photo, Zeek was too lazy to do a proper setup to take the photo^^; Thanks a lot Milo Pa^^

Watches for helper?

We're thinking of making watches like this for those helping with our Malaysia wedding cremony & dinner. We don't really want to add our photo there as it'll likely to end up in someone storage and not be worn at all^^; Don't really know if it's a good idea, so we hope those who read this blog leave a comment. Something we ordered from artscow but forgotten to share here. It's a deck of heart shaped playing cards. The quality is pretty good, it's paper like Aladdin playing cards.

Our S$13.80 bet..

We had send in the artscow photobook with tone down contrast photos & added a few pages. S$13.80 for a stitch bound, custom wrap photobook is just too hard to resist.

Aftering some testing, Zeek found that if you use photos out of camera without adding contrast or color adjustment, and your photos must not be under exposed, your shots with artscow photobook should turn out great.

It seems that artscow has really poor customer service, but it is expected as the price is so low, likely they are under manpower with the massive orders. They aren't going to do adjustments to their printer settings. The powerbook price is just too low to miss out, so I did a bit of testing.

If your photos are contrast like what you see in our blog, most likely your photos will be too red and too contrast if you print their photobook. The setting I'm using now with photoshop (or any image editing software) is set the brightness of the photo to +20 and contrast to -50. If you can tune saturation, -3 will be good.

If you have photoshop or image editing software that allows you to convert your photo to CMYK color, then you can preview how the photobook will turn out. After u convert you photo to CMYK color, set the contrast to +100 and your brightness to -15 or -20.

Going to try reprint the ROM photobook again. Hope it'll be better this time round^^ Wish us luck...

artscow photobook arrived.

Kinda disappointed with the printing, as the prints came out underexposed and too much reds. Heard about their reds problem, but didn't think it was so bad. The binding is really good, it's stitching binding and the book pages open all the way, unlike just1book. just1book is gives faster service and the paper is better.

For the price artscow is offering, it's still worth printing with them. But it also means you'll need to do some color adjustments before sending them for printing. Like more exposure and lessen the reds/contrast.

So what's the price difference? just1book for 8x8" 20pages photobook with custom jacket/cover is $69 if they have 20% promo it'll be $55.20. artscow for 8x8" 20pages without promo is US$9.99 + US$7.99 shipping (total around S$27) with promo or free credit, it'll only be $12.

Also Zeek's 12R photos came in today. artscows prints are still up to standard. They look great, but since they aren't wedding related shots, we won't share here...
